The Solid Colours Cocker Spaniel Association

Welcome to The Solid Colours Cocker Spaniel Association

Head Study of a Golden Cocker

The Solid Colours Cocker Spaniel Association was formed in 2000, from an amalgamation of two Clubs, The Red and Golden Cocker Spaniel Club and the Black Cocker Spaniel Society. Both Clubs had a long history, particularly The Red and Golden Cocker Spaniel Club, being one of the oldest. However, during the 1990s, both Clubs suffered dwindling entries for their Open Shows, and it was felt that as most exhibitors bred or owned both colours of Cocker Spaniels, their needs could be best met by combining the two Clubs.

This has proved to be very successful, culminating in the Club being awarded Championship status for the first time in 2007, and then every alternate year. The Championship Shows are held at The Kennel Club Building, Stoneleigh Park, Coventry and the Open Shows are usually held at Roade Village Hall. Both venues are easily accessible, within a few miles of the M1.

The Club is very keen to promote education within the Breed, and has so far run several Seminars, mostly those which are a Kennel Club requirement for aspiring Judges. These have been well attended and successful, and more are planned for the future. All future Shows and events will be advertised on the website, and Schedules for Shows are available for download.
